Par, Cornwall 2nd January 2021

This morning i was again treated to a stunning sunrise; i honestly do not think there is anywhere else i would rather be.

Par beach was busy with early morning dog walkers, who again, take pride in their environment and more often than not, pick up and dispose of any rubbish they find. Many hands make light work!

Part of a domino and a squashed Fat Face body spray can were largest items i found.... I wonder how long the domino had been in the environment and if it was whole when it ended up there?

This old and broken plastic bottle contained oil; i tried to clean it at home to see what the writing said, but it was very fragile, damaged and oily, that i was unable to make out the words.

A river runs down the side of Par beach; the cold created a mist on the water and a feeling of peace

The sand dune areas change frequently with high tides. On closer inspection i found various plastic items making themselves known, You can just about make out a plastic straw poking through the ground. How much plastic is encased in the environment that is yet to appear? And how long has it been there? Is there a solution or is it just a matter of time before it comes out ?

The gentle lapping of the waves, geese flying overhead was so peaceful; the restorative powers of the coast is truly delightful. How lucky are we to live in such a beautiful place?

My beach cleaning side kick enjoyed the sunrise as much as i did 💜🐾
