Par Beach, Cornwall ; Walking on Frozen Sand!

9th January and i found myself on Par beach, with my beach cleaning sidekick!

Donned with his cosy coat, we braved the -3 temperatures for a walk on Par beach.

One thing i really like about Par beach, is the pride the beach goers have in picking litter up. A popular dog walking beach, users seem to strive to keep this beautiful spot litter free.
There is little obvious litter, the odd bits, but more along the cliff edge and sand dunes.

My sidekick found a piece of plastic, luckily he didn't eat it!

The same can't be said for the green comb! I had to work hard to get the 'teetth' out of his mouth :(
This really could have posed a risk to my dogs wellbeing, and also other dogs.

A lot of the plastic requires a bit of digging to find. This long piece of plastic was floating in the river which leads into the sea. This could have caused wildlife a lot of trouble had it reached the open seas.
I wonder where it came from?

I think these photos illustrate how collecting just a few items makes a real positive impact. And as the old saying goes, 'Many hands make light work'.
