How many items were collected in one beach clean?

On 4th January i visited Polkerris beach; having spent a solid 3 hours picking up plastic, my bag was only half full. It got me to wondering how many items my small bag contained......

Would you believe that the small bag of plastic i collected contained a staggering 1688 pieces ! 

It goes to show the impact you can have. Although i left more on the beach, i feel a sense of achievement that almost 2000 pieces of plastic have been removed. 

 I know not everyone is inspired to pick up plastic in this extreme way, but can you imagine the difference that could be made of every beach goer picked up one item? 

Together we could really turn the tide.......
