Another day and another beach clean at Par, Cornwall

I do love visiting the beach as the sun is rising; its truly magical. Today we visited our 'go to' beach - Par. A favourite for dog walkers and a favourite for me and Woody too.

Seaweed = drinks cans!

It is always sad to see plastic floating in rock pools

Woody was on the look out for plastic!

Here is a selection of what we found today..... i know drinks cans are not plastic, but i always find them. They look horrific all torn and broken up; the small pieces must go somewhere, and that it as anwful thought

Sunrise at Polridmouth Cove, Cornwall

Todays beach cleaning adventure took us to Polridmouth Cove; the good thing about getting there super early is the peace and tranquillity. We walked down to the cove as the sun was rising, it was pure bliss.

Gribben  Head and the Daymark Tower looked stunning; especially as the tide was on it's way out, and with the full moon, it was going to be a really low tide and enable us to have a really good beach clean

Polridmouth cove was as stunning as always; ducks, swans and a heron were minding their own business on the lake

There was the usual assortment of plastic; including this toothbrush and unused coffee pod

The silver/grey balloon was almost invisible against the rocks. And i have to wonder why lots of seaweed always means a drinks can can be found!

The finds today included Lego flower stems (with one stem missing) and this was not a 'Lego lost at sea' item. A gold coloured smarties lid and some eye ointment!

Our usual bag was brimming with rubbish as we headed back to the car; it was a good day for us and the beaches we visited.

Polkerris; Sunrise and Peacefulness

We headed to Polkerris for our adventure today. This was our first visit to Polkerris following the stormy weather last week. We arrived to see the moon casting its light on the sea and St Austell in the background.

On the whole, the beach didn't look too bad; however, you do have to dig around a bit and then the true extent of plastic becomes apparent. Tides, weather and moon cycle all impact a beach, sometimes litter is strewn around i plain sight, and yet another day the wind may have blown the sand and all the litter is buried. It's not long until you find it though.

We can all make a difference; even though picking up one item doesn't sound like much, think how many this would be if everyone did it? And who knows what impact that one piece of pollution could have in the marine environment..... that one piece picked up really could make a difference

A bright and sunny trip to Par Beach, Cornwall

Another trip to Par Beach; the weather was calm and sunny, the tide was low. We amde the most of the low tide by exploring along this stretch of coastline

We found a lego spear guun which was immaculate.. and another plastic bottle

I have no idea what this is - the only clue is a little figure which looks like it
s running

3 mystery items

Another lobster tag dating to 2008;  these are always interesting to find.

It was good to see so many people picking up rubbish today. After last weeks stormy conditions, it was good to see the Par Beach community looking after such a beautiful place.

A stormy Par Beach, Cornwall. Plastic tide line

Wild is the best way to describe the weather today; the contrast between todays heavy rain / gales and the warmth of the sun 2 days ago is staggering! Spring sprang back again!

Stormy weather can only mean one thing... plastic plastic plastic

The micro plastics and nurdles were mixed up with twigs, leaves and general organic matter

This water bottle is from Malaysia

It really was a rainbow of plastics, the majority was unbranded or the fragments were too small to retain and lettering

The spectrum of colours of nurdles is staggering. I wonder how many are on just one beach... the thought it mind blowing :/

Whatever you do, just pick up one piece of rubbish when you are out and about getting your daily dose of the great outdoors. It really does make a differnce.
