Carlyon Bay ...... a restorative visit to the beach

Another morning found us on Carlyon beach. The weather was fairly calm, but dull in comparison to the crisp, cold mornings of late. Despite the Cornish mizzle, ST Austell Bay was as glorious as always.

With a new moon, the tide was very low, which led to the uncovering of a beautiful selection of sea glass. It got me thinking about glass.... when does the pollutant become the treasure? If i take joy in finding a beautiful glass, am i a hypocrite for being enraged at the glass bottles left on the beach?

The higher tide linked to the new moon, shifted the sand, covering plastic once again. In the middle of the low tide river, we found another can - they seem a frequent find of late. You can just make out the beginning of the degrading metal.

The beach provides me with escapism; stepping out from the shadows of everyday life. It provides escapism, a chance to recharge and realign my very being.

I love what i do; and the beaches i visit seem to have their own way of saying thank you......
