What a Difference a Day Makes! Polkerris and Par Beach

What a difference a day makes! Such a  beautiful autumnal day!

Weather has been fairly calm, so very little in the way of plastic pollution on the beach today.

Polkerris was blissfully tranquil; such a beautiful morning. The sea gently lapping the shoreline, and the sound of oyster catchers filled the air - what bliss!

Hidden amongst the seaweed, was a handful of micro plastics . I did find the fishing hook below; the sharp hooks could have been dangerous if stood on or picked up, ouch!

After Polkerris, I visited Par beach, the scene of Mondays drenching! This view is enough to sooth a troubled mind. As with Polkeriis across the bay, very little plastic was found. I picked up cotton bud sticks, straws, bottle lids and lots of micro plastics which were impossible to identify.
I wonder how long it will be before the plastic cotton bud sticks and straw ban, which was brought in this month, will take to impact the coastline?

As always, if the beaches reward my efforts with treasure, i am overwhelmingly grateful. Today was the day of blue and white treasures! I think this is possibly the largest piece of blue glass i have found! I can only imagine the joy of finding a whole blue glass bottle!

Whatever you, wherever you go, i firmly believe the sea has ways of thanking people for removing pollutants from beaches. I adore 2 Minute Foundation philosophy of removing pollutants for 2 minutes, i firmly believe that if every beach visitor collectively worked together to carry out a 2 minute beach clean, then the difference would be significant. Check out their website (if you haven't already), its inspiring https://www.2minute.org/

Thanks for reading & i am sure i will be posting again very soon!
