Following the Par river from St Blazey to Luxulyan Valley

Something a bit different today - mainly because my car is poorly! The river par, which comes out at the sea at Par Beach. We started at St Blazey and followed the river to Ponts Mill and then into the Luxulyan valley.

It was an incredibly cold morning, with thick frost everywhere, it gave a beautiful twinkly glow to everything we saw.

One thing i wanted to look at , was if i could see any plastic openly floating along the river; i did not, however, there was plenty of litter around, which was a sad site to see in such a beautiful, peaceful and natural environment.

It is strange to think that ships use to float up to Ponts Mill car park before silt filled the area, it is a now a couple of miles to Par beach from Ponts Mill car park.I would love to go back in time and see this!

The railway runs a branch line from Par station to Newquay, which in turn goes along all of our walk today; the bridge below has the branch line go over it, as it weaves through the valley. The beautiful archway is simply gorgeous.

Although cold, once the sun had risen, the skies were blue and there was a warmth in the air, its lovely to see spring changing the landscape, as all the growth, plants and trees spring into life again.

Stay Safe x
