Vault Beach, Cornwall

Vault beach is a little further along than St Austell Bay, but a lovely beach to visit.

The weather was stunning and you could feel the warmth of the sunshine :)

There was little plastic visible, but the first thing spotted turned out to be a yellow lego speargun

I have no idea why, but the consistent thing i find at Vault beach are plastic bottles.... and in amongst the rocks, the inevitable bottle lid

We enjoyed looking in the rock pools with their crystal clear water..... how devastating to see micro plastic floating around

Here are the bottle we found today; they are all in varying stages of break down

These were the only other pieces of debris we found, which considering Vault Beach is a long stretch, this was pretty good. I wonder if this is because the beach doesn't get much debris, or, people have been picking it up?

Also found was a fragment of a vulcanite bottle stopped

And the final finds of the day were all thee Cowrie shells - wow! I couldn't believe there were so many! I love finding them, in folklore, finding a Cowrie shell is supposed to signify good luck x

Stay safe x
